The Franzisca axe was an axe from German origin that was used during to S. V until S. VIII.
Axe called Franzisca being popularised by the franks that was a German tribe. Franzisca is war axe for to take with single hand used for the combat hand to hand and as throwing. Franzisca had a characteristic “S” form, since the top of head the edge more short was curved toward inside. Nowadays Franzisca remains in popular use in competitions to throw axes and as weapons for historical representations. Franzisca axe was higher than the precise javelins and was more lethal in combat hand to hand. |
