The fact that this whetstone has folding handles means that you can sharpen your knife without risking cutting yourself. As we get better knife steels that are both stronger and harder, the tools we use to process these knives demand even more. Based on our long experience in the woods, we believe that the diamond sharpener is absolutely the best tool for sharpening standard knives. Even if a diamond whetstone wears down, it stays flat and that"s a big advantage in the long run when sharpening knives. Also, diamond whetstones are fast in their action, you get a new edge very quickly. Neither oil nor water is needed.

The yellow surface consists of titanium aluminum nitride which greatly extends the life of the sharpener. Use the rough side (44 microns) if it has received real edge damage, the fine side (25 microns) for normal edge sharpening. The whetstone comes with instructions in English on how to use it. For cleaning, use a little dishwashing liquid and hot water. Like all diamond sharpeners, this whetstone is a bit rough at first, but gets smoother after a period of use. When you have sharpened your knife hundreds of times, you should consider sending the knife back to us for a new factory sharpening. Please note that we only grind Fällkniven knives.
