Shoulder pads are a functional piece of medieval armor that covered the shoulders and defended, ie, the top and side of the trunk and Quadrumana, where the arm of the warrior born. The shoulder was a very vulnerable part and easy to attack with serious consequences for the defense of the opponent, as the injured shoulder dislocated arm and, therefore, left him immobile and useless to defend with the sword or other weapon. Hence the need to protect the shoulder pads.
