Medieval Practice - Wood - Two Hands - Ref 600598

Wooden practice weapons could withstand harsh wear and tear while preserving steel weapons for battles to come. A wooden sword was also useful for another reason: if it made contact with another person, it didn"t hurt him as badly as it would if he practiced with the steel one. This, coupled with the wear and tear on the valuable steel blades, made wooden swords essential tools for teaching fencing. Our practice weapons are crafted from sturdy hardwood, fully seasoned. With the contrasting wooden guard and pommel, they are strong enough to meet the needs of the swordsman. The design of the sword represents the most representative edged weapons from the 12th to the 15th century.
