PRH303 Targe Shield of the Battle of Culloden

"This Scottish Targe is really a part of the story.

During the Jacobin uprising, Scottish defender William Lindsay of Perth made hundreds of targets for Charles Edward Stuart"s army.

He made significant price differences between the objectives of the officers and the ordinary shields of the simpler soldiers.

It was very likely that the original of our replica was made by him, since he was captured in 1746 at the Battle of Culloden and taken to London along with the Jacobin prisoners.

He is now in the Royal Armories Museum in the Tower of London.

This excellent replica of the PrimusArms museum has a removable steel tip that makes it a perverse weapon.

The Targe has a shield hump and decorative bronze bolts.

The leather is embossed with beautiful Celtic ornaments.

The shield is made of hand-dyed leather, which is fastened with brass rivets.
