Bayonet M1 - Ref 803286
The M1 Garand rifle was first used with the M1905 40cm bayonet. In 1942, the US Army determined that a shorter bayonet was more effective. Existing M1905 bayonets were shortened by 25 cm. and new 25 cm bayonets were manufactured.
The cutting bayonets generally have a full tang that extends to the tip but this newly manufactured model has a full tang up to approx. 7 cm. Above the tip. This bayonet is made to original specifications in blued high carbon steel with a hard plastic handle.
