This Cota de Maila cap is made according to an "international" pattern
From the Celts of 300 B.C. Until the 18th century in Asia, chain mail was one of the most prized items a warrior could own. The "enemy of swords" probably derived the name "mail" from the Latin "macula" meaning net. This shirt features 16 gauge links in the "international" pattern, with 4 links through a fifth, which is common to all European chain mail.
Faithfully copied from examples in museums and private collections .
Can be used with or without a helmet. A must have with any Viking, Medieval or Renaissance outfit.
We recommend keeping this chainmail oiled at all times.
The diameter of each outer link is approximately 1cm and the diameter of the inner link is approximately 0.95 cm.
