The Spyderco Aqua Salt FRN knife is a knife for nautical, fishing and survival in very wet environments. It stands out for its resistance to rust in environments with fresh and salt water while having a great characteristic in cutting hardness and lightness.
The base material of the blade of the knife is H-1, a Nitrogen-based steel alloy that is exceptional in corrosion resistance and has great waterproof ability.
The H-1 material treatment of this Spyderco Aqua Salt FRN is different because we do a more refined treatment to get the H-1 steel alloy and make it even more resistant to water and humidity. The deal we do is this: we take steel as the primary element and we treat it with a nitrogen alloy to get the H-1 stainless steel alloy. In this way, we add nitrogen by replacing it with the traditional carbon in the steel alloy matrix because nitrogen does not react to oxidation.
You have it available in a black sheet that contains a non-reflective titanium coating ( TiCN).
The blade grind and drop nose profile provide a combination of superior cutting performance without having to apply too much force on your part. It is a very hard blade and not very flexible thanks to its great cutting capacity.
