SPANISH MORRION HELMET
The Morrión was used by early Spanish explorers and conquistadors during the 16th and early 17th centuries. It is characterized by a flat brim and a comb, or "crest", running from front to back, which deflected blows and protected the upper part.
In later years, the crest was enlarged to become a decorative element. The Morrion, although often associated with the Spanish, was also common among infantrymen throughout Europe.
Handmade in 18 gauge steel, with cloth lining and chin strap.
Total: 27 cm high
Weight: 1,590 g
