The professional rescue knife THW-PRT was created in cooperation with the Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk (THW), a German public protection service for technical disaster relief. It was founded on 22 August 1950 as a civil protection organisation in Germany.

It consists of the usual mechanics of the Eickhorn rescue knives plus an additional needle point for loosening knots.

The knife is still equipped with the PRT-II mixed blade with luminescent SGT coating.

The THW-PRT meets all the requirements of a lightweight, multifunctional rescue tool.
