Marto Cadet Sword Carlos V - Forging
Charles I of Spain and V of the Holy Roman Empire, known as "the Caesar," son of Joanna I of Castile and Philip I the Fair, and grandson on his father's side of Maximilian I of Habsburg and Mary of Burgundy, and on his mother's side of the Catholic Monarchs, was elected Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire upon the death of his grandfather Maximilian in 1519.
He reigned jointly with his mother over all the kingdoms and territories of Spain from 1516 to 1556, thus uniting for the first time in one person the Crowns of Castile, the Kingdom of Navarre, and Aragon.
