Replica of the legendary "Joyeuse", currently in the Louvre Museum, but which comes from the treasury of the Saint-Denis Abbey. This sword has been used in the consecration of all the kings and emperors of France. The sword of consecration was considered, since the 13th century, like that of Charlemagne, the "Joyeuse" (the Joyful). Its handle and the little plate, which has a plant element in the center of the guard, date back to the Early Middle Ages. Its spike, decorated until 1804 with fleurs-de-lis in the rhombuses, appears Gothic. Its hawks, made up of small winged dragons, date from the second half of the 12th century.
